Lord I lift up all the mighty men you have placed in MLB to be a light in the marketplace. Father, keep them safe, healthy, and always with the mindset that they have a purpose and a destiny that is greater than their sport. Lord, give these worldclass athletes wisdom and discernment and put people of faith and character in their paths to keep them accountable. Father, give them the strength to endure not only physically but spiritual endurance that they may overcome temptations. Give them strength to overcome their day to day struggles! May they always praise you and give you thanks. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen!

A prayer for Japan

Father in heaven, we lift up the people of Japan and those countries that surround that Island country. Lord, bring comfort to those who are experiencing a loss of a loved one. Lord, mobilize your people to jump into action and let them become an extension of your love to those in need at this very moment. I thank you for those who have survived. Lord, that part of the world is in such need of knowing you and the love you have for them. Reach out to them in their time of need, I pray, in Jesus name, amen!

Proverbs 22:1,4; “1 A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold. 4 Humility and the fear of the LORD bring wealth and honor and life”

What amazing wisdom and insight – “a good name is more desirable than great riches;” which begs the question, What will distinguish you from others? What distinguishes you from your predecessors?

Will you leave behind a legacy of kindness, faithfulness, and honesty? I am reminded of the song recorded by Steve Green “Finds us faithful.”

Today, I just want to encourage you to focus on these things today. I want to encourage you to think of others before you think of yourself, your needs, your desires (Phil. 2:3). Lets make a genuine effort to lift, encourage, exhort, and love others in the same manner as Jesus who gave up his life so that we may live.

Lord there are so many thing I am thankful for, but here are just a few of many;

Thank you for grace and mercy. You Lord are not easily angered, but rich in love.
Father I thank you for you ALWAYS provide for our needs in spite of how ungrateful we might be at times.
Lord, thank you! I thank you because of who YOU are!
I thank you because how you lovingly take care of me and my family
I thank you for the blood shed on the cross for me and my family
I thank you for writing the names of my family on the Lamb’s Book of Life
Father I thank you for being my friend, my song, and my hiding place.
I am so grateful for my health, YOU healed me!
Father I thank you for the gifts you have given me to bless Your church
Lord I thank you for those who you have put under my care to lead, encourage, and equip
Lord I thank you for those who keep me accountable to you

Lord I worship you this morning because only YOU are worthy of such worship, praise, and honor. I can’t help but to praise you for you mighty works. Your love Lord reaches to the heavens and your righteousness is like a mighty mountain.

Lord you are so marvelous, so wonderful, so holy, and worthy! Your faithfulness is unmatched. I lift your name on high and sing praises to you. YOU ALWAYS WORK EVERYTHING TO OUR BENEFIT even when we are ungrateful.

That is why I put all my trust and faith in you and in you alone! You spoke everything into existence. You thought of me before the foundations of the world. You knew me in my mother’s womb and anointed me for YOUR KINGDOM PURPOSE and you gave me a hope and destiny.

Father, I just simply want to say Thank You!

What else if not by faith?

“Sola fide“ is Latin for “by faith alone.” Scripture defines the word faith in Hebrew 11:1 and it is taught on Wednesdays, Sunday Schools, Bible College, in seminars, books, T.V. and radio programs. People have written a theology and created a movement. I wonder often if that was our heavenly Father’s will for us to do.

Without Faith is impossible to please God

One morning (at 4:30 a.m.) I sat at the table and dicided to read Hebrews 11. Why 4:30a.m.? That’s just the time I wake up to have quiet time and devotions. I began to read this chapter and I as read there was a phrase that kept jumping out at me, “It was by faith.” When I read these verses the Holy Spirit spoke to me and ministered to my life right where I was at. I ask you to read these verses and let the Spirit of God speak and minister to your heart today. Forget about what others have said concerning these Scripture, just tune your hearing to the voice of God and let Him speak directly to you. He can do that, you know!

Hebrews 11
“4 It was by faith that Abel brought a more acceptable offering to God than Cain did. God accepted Abel’s offering to show that he was a righteous man. And although Abel is long dead, he still speaks to us because of his faith.

“5 It was by faith that Enoch was taken up to heaven without dying — “suddenly he disappeared because God took him.” ^a But before he was taken up, he was approved as pleasing to God.”

“7 It was by faith that Noah built an ark to save his family from the flood. He obeyed God, who warned him about something that had never happened before. By his faith he condemned the rest of the world and was made right in God’s sight.”

“8 It was by faith that Abraham obeyed when God called him to leave home and go to another land that God would give him as his inheritance. He went without knowing where he was going”

“11 It was by faith that Sarah together with Abraham was able to have a child, even though they were too old and Sarah was barren. Abraham believed that God would keep his promise.” ^b

“17 It was by faith that Abraham offered Isaac as a sacrifice when God was testing him. Abraham, who had received God’s promises, was ready to sacrifice his only son, Isaac”

“20 It was by faith that Isaac blessed his two sons, Jacob and Esau. He had confidence in what God was going to do in the future”

“21 It was by faith that Jacob, when he was old and dying, blessed each of Joseph’s sons and bowed in worship as he leaned on his staff.”

“22 And it was by faith that Joseph, when he was about to die, confidently spoke of God’s bringing the people of Israel out of Egypt. He was so sure of it that he commanded them to carry his bones with them when they left!”

“23 It was by faith that Moses’ parents hid him for three months. They saw that God had given them an unusual child, and they were not afraid of what the king might do”

“24 It was by faith that Moses, when he grew up, refused to be treated as the son of Pharaoh’s daughter“

“27 It was by faith that Moses left the land of Egypt. He was not afraid of the king. Moses kept right on going because he kept his eyes on the one who is invisible”

“28 It was by faith that Moses commanded the people of Israel to keep the Passover and to sprinkle blood on the doorposts so that the angel of death would not kill their firstborn sons“

“29 It was by faith that the people of Israel went right through the Red Sea as though they were on dry ground. But when the Egyptians followed, they were all drowned”

“30 It was by faith that the people of Israel marched around Jericho seven days, and the walls came crashing down“

“31 It was by faith that Rahab the prostitute did not die with all the others in her city who refused to obey God. For she had given a friendly welcome to the spies”

Let’s believe expecting with ALL confidence that what we are desiring WILL happen, although “we cannot yet see.” As a mentioned, let the Spirit of God speak to you this day!
